Casual Day

Hi everyone! Lots of fun new items are out right now from designers participating in great monthly events.  There is just so much good stuff out there right now - it just blows my mind and my pocketbook.  Wasabi Pills has released Sibel for Uber.  Its a just right medium length hair with a bit of curl and braid over the top; perfect for sweet looks.  The Men's Dept. opens tomorrow with a fantastic collection.  My pants, bag and necklace will be there and each comes in a version for both genders.  I love the little toggle on KITJA's pipe pants and yes they come in colors more masculine than pearl.  Enfant Terrible has joined the event and has a fabulous set of bags. They come in many sizes as well as rigged and non-rigged versions. There is also a smaller handbag.  These are available in other colors as well. The BullzSkull from modish is does have both M/F sizing as well as a materials version. I also adore my cropped sweater from Pixicat, out at the this round of Kustom9. I am crazy for the metalwork, which is also color change.  Very nice! The shoes are from Ingenue for the round of Collabor88 that is ending soon. They are available in a myriad of yummy colors.

Enchantment is also running and the theme this month is Beauty and the Beast.  I always enjoy going around to the participating merchants and seeing what special item they are offering.  an lar poses has a very nice set called The Beauty Series, which you can pick up at a reasonable price as your purchase to get the necessary card you will need to get stamped for more prizes.

Is There Still Hope?

My husband, who was the sweetest man in the world, loved birds of prey.  He always said they were so interesting and smart. He died suddenly a few years ago in November and so when I see these birds I always smile a bit as if he is sending me a message (as well as hope they don't catch any little cuties).  Consider it just a bit of my strangeness. The November round of Genre is post apocalyptic not really getting down with happy holidays, but Genre has never claimed to be mainstream.  Bliensen + MaiTai is a regular participant in the event and Plurabelle Laszlo has created a Bottle Cap mask and necklace for the event.  I first remember Bleinsen + MaiTai for a free Bottle Cap necklace in the store about a zillion years ago when I was blogging for Free*Style.  It was with that necklace that I started to love her work so I feel it is only natural that I don the new edgier set.  The necklace comes in versions for both men and women and the mask is not rigged, so I don't see why it could not be worn by a male face with a bit of improvisation.

Ison's outfit for this month's Collabor88, really fit for the look I was going for.  The bandage top is modern and deconstructed and the back details are glorious.  The side lace pants are pretty darn sweet themselves, with really outstanding work on the side details. Wasabi Pills adorable Kokoro hair for the Xiasumi Festival, which runs until the end of this month, is really quite exquisite and added enough sweetness to not leave my look seeming too harsh.

Winter is Coming...Already?

It has been snowing like the dickens in RL and I've been dressing up Eden in warming clothes even though it is always warm on my platform where I hide most of the time. I am a big fan of Coco and I grab just about any coat or suit that she makes as they are always perfect.  She recently released the Chester Coat and a new Sweater with Shirt underneath and I had to have at least one color of each. The sweater has the added feature of a version that fits under coats and not having to fight mesh clash makes me very happy.  I guess I can justify buying more purely on that basis.

So much of the "stuff" I am wearing with the outfit is currently available at various events.  Wasabi Pills has the adorable Karin hair at FaMESHed for November.  I love the short bangs; besides being fresh, they always make me think of a gamine like Audrey Hepburn or Winona Rider.  The gorgeous shoes I am wearing are from Nardcotix, which has recently reopened and making stunning shoes. The Delilah Stilettos are currently available at The Liaison Collaborative.  There are versions for Slink high feet and Belleza and The Mesh Project bodies. Regretfully the shot came out so "white" with the lighting I used that you can't really make out the stockings I am wearing from Cannibelle. The designer, sweet Annabelle Couturier, has made some finely textured Micronet Tights for Cirque de Seraphim in both dark and light pastel tones.  Let me say this: I am a fussy shopper, I have a ton of things in my inventory and I have come to appreciate good designers.  Cannibelle is tops on my list for stockings and she makes appliers for just about any body, including toddlers.  The things on my nails are actually quite fantastic.  The Rawwr Claws are made by Plurabelle Lazslo of Bliensen + MaiTai for this month's round of We<3RP.  They are original mesh, available ready to wear for both slink casual and elegant hands as well as in sizes large enough as well as modifiable for the standard avatar hand, including for men.  They are delicious and a great statement piece!

Into the Woods

It's the final week of Mystic Realms and if you have not been there you really must.  I am not an RP'er but I like to switch up my look and the shopping there was absolutely fantastic.  Even G Field is there and it is always nice to see new works from Cerebus Noel.  I am a long time fan of the meticulous effort put into items.  I still have hundreds of pairs of the sculpt shoes because they have simply held up to the test of time, while others have been tossed and forgotten. G Field's Elwyn outfit is a single piece, though it looks like separates.  It comes in 5 standard sizes and in 4 colors. If you can't decide which to buy, get the fatpack because it's a really good value.  I've become more aware of Isabeau Baragula's work for Kalopsia, especially her range of skill.  She has several items at Mystic Realms including the stone arch, well, and tree bench shown here. However, if you visit The Men's Dept. right now you will see houses she has made to resemble metal shipping crates that are just as incredible.

Also brand new is Wasabi Pills Ariel hair which she has created for Fallen God's Anniversary. Among other event there is a small market with some of "the Gods'" favorite creators. It's a precious mid-length  rigged style with a bit of a lift and a braid across the top.  It is available in all of MissAllSunday's textures and includes hair bases.  Me likey :).

Hi all!  Just a quick update on The Liaison Collaborative and a new hair from Wasabi Pills. The current round of Liaison Collaborative is coming up on it's last week and there are some great things you don't want to miss!  The theme this month is "Technologic" and everything has a techy or alien edge to it.  I'm wearing Fishy Strawberry's Technofuture Bralette and Metallic Panel Leggings as well as Izzie's Spike Necklace.  Both have several varieties of textures to choose from.  Over at Uber, Wasabi Pills has released the new Lea hair.  It's a sexy blown back style that let's you show off your makeup!

8.12.14: Never a Saint

When I die, they might say "she was a nice lady" but I will not be on anyone's short-list for sainthood, but it's fun to play one in SL.  I got a notice from May's Soul for her new Ave Maria crown that is now available at We <3 Role-Play and ended up looking around and spending a small fortune!  I am not involved in RP in SL; I am swamped working on events and attempting to not stink at blogging, but I like the idea of it as well as the chance to let go of my usual boundaries.  So shut up, Eden, the crown includes 4 lovely rose headpieces but I liked the edgier look of the plain crown for this look.  While I was spending L's I stumbled on the Favi gown from The Library.  I have few reasons to wear a gown in SL but this one was so slinky and sexy while covering up those parts I would rather not show off when I am out (PRUDE!) and I so love the collar and beaded effect.  Bliensen + MaiTai has the awesome Fenrir jewelry set at the event.  I thought Fenrir was just the character in Harry Potter but since you asked is from Norse mythology and is just a terrible-horrible wolf.  

I was absolutely flabbergasted that when I went to Glam Affair today with no hope of getting the limited edition Rose skins in Pearl tone that are on Flash Sale right now for only L$ 250 and includes different brow colors and such as I trust Aida Ewing to do but sit down, appliers for Slink (hands,feet,physique), Lolas and Phat-Azz and found lots were still available!  If you do not get at least one of the 4 versions, I just do not know how to help you!  The skin is pale, pale, which I think Aida does so well and appliers, too!  I'm surprised that just the bloggers in SL did not crash that sim trying to get one.  You need.  And Wasabi Pills, makes the Rye tone of blonde that is perfect with really fair skins. I adore her new release Joan, for the August round of the new Uber event.

8.8.2104 Late Summer Getaway

Summer is starting to wind down up north where I live. I notice the sun setting sooner an though we did not get a hot summer this year, the nights are definitely crisper. Summer means tourists on Lake Michigan, but even us locals are getting out for a weekend getaway before school starts and the water turns cold. Probably next weekend will actually be my getaway weekend to go up north and poke through shops looking for their clearance items :) and eating ice cream (or smoked fish, if you prefer).

The look here (if you aren't a tourist) is casual but upscale. We are a land of boaters and cottagers and if I could drag an outfit from SL for the weekend it would be this.  Pixicat, one of my new favorite brands, released the precious Key Top as one of the purchases for Enchantment that includes a "stamp card".  The premise is more or less this: instead of shopping in one place like most events, you purchase at least one "Enchantment" item from one of 20 merchants.  Then you must go to each merchant and find the stamp machine (which is adorably made by Anya Ohmai) and touch it wearing your stamp card(s).  I bought more than one item and wore all my cards at once and they all stamped at the same time.  Once your card is filled you go to the Enchantment area and pick out one prize per card.  The comfy Pine shorts are from LpD and are available in 5 colors for a steal at The Courtier's Docks.

The super roomy getaway bag is a new release from Ison that you can pick up at the new Uber event through the month of August.  It has a monthly theme and this month is Vacation.  The Maleese Striped Bag is available in 7 colors and each includes 2 hand attachments.  I particularly love Wasabi Pill's Nana hair that was recently released at Hair Fair.

Do you all remember Cupcakes - the fab store that made their own skin and clothing line?  Mimi Coral, who was the original Cupcake with her shop <3 Cupcakes was a long time favorite of mine (the dresses were adorb!), and she is back with a new store called Flounce.  As before, her skin is completely handmade and she has released several new lines.  Each line contains tat layers for lip colors, freckles, beauty marks, blush, etc. as well as various brow and cleavage options.  They are all very reasonably priced as are the appliers, sold separately but at prices cheaper than a gacha.  She even has a sign in her store that says "Is your favorite applier missing? IM Mimi Coral and I will make it for you!" Talk about Customer Service! Mimi is one in a million.

Hair Fair 2014: Wasabi Pills

Today is the last day of Hair Fair 2014 and it's officially Bandanna Day, where we show our solidarity with kids who have lost their hair for traumatic reasons.  Each sim has a shop just with bandannas and there are so many to chose from; my annual ritual is to always get LeLutka's Bandanna.  However, it is also the last day to purchase new hair and also give towards Wigs for Kids, Hair Fair's charity organization.  Also, there are so many hairs packed into 4 sims that if you don't have a hairgasm you just need to relax a bit more and enjoy the pleasure :)

I love Wasabi Pills, have always loved Wasabi Pills and will forever love Wasabi Pills.  Dear MissAllSunday Lemon did not disappoint with her 4 new releases for Hair Fair: Batbara, Midori, Breeze and Nana.  They are perfect and you know you need them!

5.4.2104: The Fantasy Gacha Carnival is Open!

I've been trying to complete this post for 2 days but my SL time in-world has been one thing after another. My apologies for getting behind. The Fantasy Gacha Carnival's May round started yesterday and the event is fantastic and HUGE.  I was able to get over there the night before it opened and the amount and variety of gachas there is just astounding.  The layout is basically round so that whether you turn left or right you will be able to make it through the maze of machines eventually.  There is a landing point inside a small building. If you walk directly forward when you land, you will be able to get away from that crowd and leave the building so you can then decide which way to begin.  I always go left because most people turn right :)

I've been trying to show a decent mix of items from as many designers as possible as the options of items there is so plentiful.  I fell immediately in love with the Japants from aii. I like to show off some skin but I still want to be covered up so these worked really well.  You can win them in several colors and the rare versions include the little hanging straps and beads off the hip.  I used Wimey's top from her Forests of the Orinoco collection which includes both tops and skirts.

I am enthralled with both the face tattoos as well as the face straps from Axix.  The realistic detail of the straps is quite impressive and I think they are just cool.  They come in several colors.  I probably did not fit this perfectly, because I'm just challenged lately, but I used Wasabi Pills Ingrid hair from Fameshed as it is gorgeous and was set back well to show the straps.  Wasabi Pills has hit it out of the ballpark with some of their new hairs as of late and I can't wait to show you what is also available at Fantasy Fair!

1.17.14 The Theme Park II

Hi there! Most of the items I am wearing can be found exclusively right now at The Theme Park.

Coquet is offering the Vintage Glamour dress in three colors. With it I am wearing tea.s' Love Me Not necklace and The Wicked Peach's darling White Corset nails for Slink hands (includes 6 colors).  There is also a dark set and both packs include appliers for both hands and feet.  All of my poses are from an lar's Like a Lady set.  Being a blogger herself, I've noticed that an lar's creator Katya Valeska knows a lot about body position and her poses are well crafted.

Though not from The Theme Park, I wanted to do a close up of Wasabi Pills new Emily hair for FaMESHed and one of Glam Affair's new Mokatana skins for Collabor88. Wasabi has added some new textures to the HUD for hair decorations and the hair is so retro and glammy and a perfect partner to The Theme Park's Vintage Romance lineup this month.  Glam Affair, which I cannot seem to stop myself from purchasing more, has some new makeup's for the Mokatana line. Love the subtle pink tones in this one and the skins include facial moles, lip glosses as well as the standard eyebrow tones and arch varieties.

ieQED made some amazing mules for The Theme Park.  Again, my complete fail at photo sizing affects the puffs on the mules.  The shoes are 100% original mesh, which includes the very cool puff, which is something I've not seen attempted in mesh before.  They are available in 3 colors and more coming soon, which is a threat to the creator, Sigifaust Resident.

Senfazine is offering the Rosalie Vintage Dress.  It is floor length and available in 8 colors.

Snowy Solstice

Hi everyone!  So many great new releases that I need to chat about.  I dragged my pal SigiFaust over to Beetlebones to play Suetabulous' newest gachas, Artic Friends.  Insanely cheap at 50 L per play, two machines are stuffed with adorable animated animals and avatars.  These amazing creatures transform based on your animation (e.g. standing, sitting).  They are not rezzable but the prizes come in these little domes and you can edit and remove the dome if you want a rezzable version: 2 prizes in 1!  Maybe I was lucky yesterday (I wish) but I won quite a few rares.

I'm really excited about the new subscriber gift at ieQED.  The unisex Antler Paudrons have been specially textured textured in a candy cane version and include both red and green bases (they are so vivid under normal light settings).  You can also pick them up in the ieQED inworld group that is free to join until January 5, 2014.  Group benefits include 10% store credit for all in-store purchases (possibly some events) as well as 50 L store credit/monthly (coming soon) and exclusive group sales.  Wasabi Pills has been cranking out new releases again and I love the new Casey hair for a nice off-the-shoulder flowy look.  Maitreya also has new releases and I love sales and could not resist the new Stagioni Boots in the group exclusive Artichoke texture (at a reduced cost, yay)!

All uploaded as a single object with a super low LI of 7.  I just wanted Santa and so I ended up derendering everything but him and a bag, which was tons of fun since my horrible graphics card causes me to crash with nearly every photo I take.  Follow US has a ton of adorable, inexpensive items on the Marketplace, but I recommend if you just want the santa don't be as miserly as me and spend a few Lindens more on the Santa with just the bag.

Catching Up

I'm so far behind on posts and there is so much to show! There are some sales that cannot be missed, like the Winter Sale at Coco that ends December 15.  Everything is half off and so I went big spender! The Men's Department, where everything there is original work, is in full swing. And Wasabi Pills has recently done 3 completely awesome hairs which I must show off.  Kira from Arcade is probably one of my all time favs from Wasabi creator, MissAllSunday Lemon. I'm a little obsessed with the widow's peak. Lastly, HANDverk creator Daphne Klossovsky has up and rebranded her work to ieQED and is working under her favorite avatar, SigiFaust.  Her HANDverk items are now being added to The Marketplace, but be sure to keep following her creations on ieQED!

Geeks'n'Nerds: I Qualify

So, I've had fun thinking about what qualifies me as a geek or nerd.  I'm generally not one to overshare but I got to thinking about my obsession with gas pumps in SL.  If I see one, it must be mine.  In RL I'm not a car aficionado but there is just something about them that pleases me here.  Quite a few of my friends have asked me...like..."Eden, why do you have a gas pump in your house?" and I have no explanation they could understand.  It's just one of those things.

The Geeks'n'Nerds Fair is simply, fun.  It's lighthearted and makes me laugh at our human condition.  Plus the offerings are A++.  These are a few of my favorite finds!

Apples in Autumn

Hi!! This post literally took me 3 days to finish due to continual crashing when I tried to take photos. I really need a new graphics card.  Autumn is my favorite season, a time when we return to our normal routines, which I find particularly comforting.  I'm also crazy about anything that looks vintage Halloween.  The season and the holiday just go together. I could not imagine Halloween in April, ya know?

Trompe Loeil's Apple Cart release for October's The Garden at The Liaison Collaborative round made me smile. I live in an area of Michigan that is on a high glacial ridge and is perfect for orchards.  Leave the city and within minutes you are in a rolling countryside rife with farm stands, hay rides, corn mazes set against a backdrop of changing leaves. Some of the markets are massive but you can still find Ma & Pa farms with small stands like Trompe's that work on the trust system where you buy your goods and put your money in a bucket.  It hearkens back to simpler, non-electronic days. The Apple Cart is actually quite a complex product: you can simply rez it and have a cute photo prop but it also comes with all it's individual components, including an empty stand that can be used as a stall for any kind of event you choose.  The hand drawn sign has 4 messages plus a blank so you can use your own signage.  The trim and body are separately tintable for your own color options. It's a must have.  Seraphim Social is hosting it's Book Club sales event and for the next week or so you can pick up some lovely items inspired by Neil Gaiman’s Coraline.  A popular meme are the buttons that the ghost children who had them sewn in as eyes. Atelier Visconti released the sweet Other Chair for the event. The chair, which is color change through a HUD, has both individual and couples poses, all adjustable.  The assorted vintage buckets are from my collection of both old and new pieces, including years of Schadenfreude's annual Halloween Bucket (alas none this year!) and Lark's perfect buckets for Candy Fair, which is ending today.

My skin is an exclusive version of PXL's new Jade skin. I love it and it was fun to wear dark hair on Eden for a change.  I wanted to get a decent shot of one of Bliensen+MaiTai's new nail appliers for Slink Avatar Enhancement hands and feet.  Brilliant and so unique they are only one of several awesome new releases for this month's Genre event which features a Steampunk theme. Nothing is over 100 L at Genre and I see many creators there that I don't normally see at other events. I've become a huge fan.  Lastly and I shut up, Wasabi Pills Stella hair for the Wizarding Fair is charming.  If you wish you can unlink the front braid, though I find it makes the hair!

The Men's Department: Talk Nerdeh to Me

The October round of The Men's Department (TMD) opens Saturday!  The event will be even bigger beginning this month with 40 participating designers, all who use original content. Most of the decor and some of the things I am wearing are new items for The Men's Department.  My cute bloomers aren't from TMD (bummer, right) but another cute item I got at The Fantasy Gacha Carnival.  They are from Yasum and the bracers and the bloomer itself are separate items available in all sizes so you can get the right fit for your avatar.  The Jade hair from Wasabi Pills includes a hud to change the headband color and is available at this month's FaMESHed round.  It's a really fun mid-length style.

I absolutely fell in love with Sorgo's Steam glasses which are available in Wood/Earth/Black (gold) colors at The Men's Department.  The glasses include both sunglass and regular lenses.  Also, if you find you cannot get enough of them, there are a white pair available at the main store in LIMITED quantities so I will include a link to the store as well in credits.  Ispachi item for TMD are the brilliant Attero Headphones and Music Player.  The set includes 3 versions: Head, Neck and Hand attachments as well as a fully integrated HUD that controls the color, size, and shine control.  The Headphones come in 15 base colors and 8 metal textures, as does the Music Player, which also has 8 LED options.  Sweet.  Deco has some badass Duck boots at TMD.  They come in 3 different colors and include both small and large sizes.

There are also some fantastic decor items at October's TMD.  Culprit's Leather Wingback chair is lush with it's aged leather effect so that it looks like it's been a well loved reading chair.  It includes animations for both genders (and no, this is not a lady animation).  Eleventh Hour's Hinge Shelf is a great set of shelves held on each end by ladder scaffolding for a nice industrial effect for any decor. The large photo space can be edited to hold your own photos but I kinda like the photo of River Stromfield.  Cheeky Pea's Driftwood Silhouettes just make me LOL, with iconic cutouts of Bigfoot, Nessy, a shark and a platypus, perfect for all the big, tough burlymen of SL.  Floorplan's funny Mustache Marquee let's you chose between 9 different color choices, some with various levels of aged effect for a nice vintage feel.  I can't wait to see what else is there when it opens Saturday, October 5.

Bring on the Cool Air!

I live in Michigan, which is basically a sweaty, miserable swamp in the summer.  Today we finally hit the coolest day since early June and I am so relieved.  It put me totally in the mood for League's Etta Knit dress which is being featured at September's Collabor88.  It's so nice to see Nena Janus making some new clothes as she has such a lovely way with color...and I love heathers.  The belt is color changeable via hud and perfectly accented Ingenue's new Delia Heels, also new at this month's Collabor88.  I've never been one to minimize my love of anything that Betty Doyle of Ingenue does.  Her work is always impeccable and intricately crafted.  It is because of Betty that I finally broke down and bought Slink feet (I can be so old skool I swear).  Now my hunt is for skin appliers :)

Izzie Button installed a new gacha at her store in just the past week and I have played it to get various colors of these cute camera necklaces.  They are mesh and a song at only 40 L per play.  Auxiliary's Purrfect Headband from The Arcade works so matchy matchy with the dress and works nicely with Wasabi Pill's
Melissa Hair, also at Arcade.

I'm almost ready to shut up. I hit The Season's Story last night and was overwhelmed by the items for sale there.  u.f.o. has an two adorable gachas and I had to play until I got the adorable camera in the first shot. The poses I'm using are from Model Poses and they are sooo cute.  Each set is only 60 L each and includes both the individual poses plus a hud and loaded pose stand, which I thought was super thoughtful!
