Pididdle's Little Black Sweater Dress

Hi! Long time, no blog!  I've been completely overwhelmed with creating and event planning lately and am thrilled to be caught up enough to take a breather and show you Pididdle's darling little sweater dress that is her offering for The Fashion Circus at LeCirque sim that begins on November 18.  It's a perfect dress to wear simply, as I am doing so you can see the dress, or layered with a coat or heavy scarf.  The top comes in both a jacket and shirt layer, which I really appreciate because I do love wearing jackets.  It has nice sculpted shoulder pads and the belt is resizable as well as color change.  I paired it up with new stockings from SD Wears that I love, love, love!  I can hardly bear to walk away from new stockings in SL and the pair I am wearing are from a fantastic set of blacks in geometric patterns.

Jewelry Fair: Ellabella

Jewelry Fair ends tomorrow so don't let it end without a visit.  I hope to get a few more photo sets done because there is such a wide range of great work featured.  Ellabella does my favorite piercing work, particularly because the designer, ellantha Larsson, takes extra care with such details as shadowing.  That her work is very reasonably priced is an additional bonus.  Ellabella is located on Sim 1.
Benediction is my favorite of her new pieces, not because I am a particularly religious person but growing up the as one of the few WASP-y girls in a Catholic neighborhood, I've always had a fascination with religious iconography and occurrences such as stigmata.
Going Batty is perfect for your inner ghoul that comes out during this month for us in the States and Beauty's Captivity, shown below is quite unique with its subtle use of pinks, blues and greens instead of the sliver makes it very special indeed.  The charm is the tiniest, tiniest rose.
Thank you, my darling ellantha, for sharing your talents with us.  Your prims make me very happy!

Jewelry Fair: Ripe

Hempy Weezles of Ripe is one of my dearest friends in SL and I am beyond excited to show her offerings for this year's Jewelry Fair.  Hempy is developing into an extremely talented jewelry creator and it's been my honor to watch her talent bloom over time.  In my opinion, Ripe's designs are some of the freshest items at Jewelry Fair and are very reasonably priced to boot.  I could fangirl all day but will desist and get on with the pictures.
The Elegant Raven Skull items scream drama!  I've worn these over and over and they never fail to draw attention.  The skull pin is her amazing dollarbie offering for the fair.  The skulls are offered with 3 different color options and are a steal.
I was with Hempy when she was working on the Beautiful Macabre Set and I am thrilled with how they turned out.  She offers this set in more colors than a candy store.  I am wearing the crimson set that if Ripe's offering for Oxfam.  There are also some fantastic petite top hats to accompany this set but I forgot to show them as I was digging this look with Helena Stringer's hair. <3
Hempy also does more "traditional" work as featured in the Old School Romance set.  This set is available in 4 different metal textures.  It also features bracelets, which I didn't show here.

Ripe is located at The Jewelry Fair on Sim 1.  Everyone enters at a central landing point, but if memory serves me correctly if you head left and snake your way counterclockwise you should be able to find it. Thank you, dear Hempy, for sharing your talents with us!

Jewelry Fair: U&R Dogs

I hope my computer isn't frying because this post literally taken me 2 days to do.  I'm the latest to fall victim to constant crashes, particularly when I am taking photos.  There is nothing as joy inducing as getting your settings correct, adjusting prims and crashing!

The Jewelry Fair runs until October 17th and is housed on 4 sims.  It is very easy to navigate and are themed from Beauty & the Beast.  The charity selected to benefit from this year's event is Oxfam, which is a collective of organizations that works towards ending poverty and injustice. Many venders have offered an exclusive item or a portion of all sales to benefit Oxfam. When I first TPed into Jewelry Fair the first booth I saw was U&R Dogs so it's only fitting they be my first Jewelry Fair post.

I've always loved U&R Dogs, particularly because they offer unique, high quality goods to people in all price ranges.  Dedication to all strata of purchasing continues with the new products available at the Fair.
I want to talk about the Smiley Set first because it requires a bit of legwork.  The Smiley singlet is available for only 50 L at the Fair.  There are matching earrings that are free and available at the mainstore.  U&R Dogs has a point system based on purchases, product camping, and joining the subscriber.  The earrings are available for 1 point.  If you've never joined their subscriber you get a point just for doing that.  This adorable set has all the features of higher priced products, including color options, brightness, etc.
I love the amazing textures of U&R's jewelry.  They have a luster that is unmistakable.  The Candide earrings an epic work of scripting with each element having its own placement and sizing script that is very intuitively organized on a touch menu.  The Zemphira nails include all the rings I'm modeling and the gloves are tintable to match your skin tone.  Amazingly the Villeneuve bracelet it only 1 L (!) and as you see there is no skimping on quality for their fair gift.
I'm not one to wear a ton of jewelry at once so I wanted to show you the Westphalia Lovelet in a separate shot.  Like the Candide earrings, it is also a scripting masterpiece.  Though it is difficult to see the tiny prims below my lips, this items has a musical theme that is one of the prevalent themes in U&R's work.

Blogger Challenge: The Letter E

Jacqueline Cliassi recently proposed a blogger challenge chain involving the letters of the alphabet.  My friend Sileny Noel recently did the letter D and asked me to pick up the  letter E.  I enthusiastically said yes, thinking I could just wear all the things in my inventory named Eden.  Then I thought about it and decided that was too easy so I made sure that nothing I used was called Eden.  Then I got sick as a dog so here tis a bit late.  Nieve Thor is going to pick up the letter F and I am looking forward to her post.

Cajsa Lilliehook frequently shares her great list of in-world photo locations with the Fashion Bloggers group and I was very intrigued with the black and white version of New Orleans.  I used this as the inspiration for the post.  I like to use photos when blogging that do not contain backgrounds added in photoshop because I prefer a cleaner look so this one was a sure bet.
What I'm wearing (head to toe):
Shape: Eden's shape: OK, I cheated and used my own shape
Hair: Exile: Bianca: Dark Brass
Skin: tres blah: Echo (from DU4)
Earrings/Necklace: Lazrith Fardel: Emerald Elven Jewelry set

Hair Fair: Last Call

Hair fair ends on September 19th and I still need to get down there and finish shopping!  Fair warning right from the start.. this is a long post and let's pray the feeds abbreviate it.  Today's post is going to show some of my favorite styles from the fair.  I own thousands of wigs so this year I was drawn to styles that would round out my collection.  The hair slurls will be for the location of each shop at the fair.
Curio: Louise - awesome bob with just the right angles!
The Strand: Blossom: This hair is so freaking fantastic I might just marry it.
Wasabi Pills: Trent: it's dood hair. Do I care? Nooo!  What is there not to love?
The U-neek: 4defcb9:  I love Treebie!  She is one of a kind and I can only imagine how much time this hair took to make.

Cucpakes: Sale of all Sales

I've always been a huge fan of Cupcakes.  I've shopped at Mimi Coral and Rosemary Galbraith's stores long before they merged into one big store of win.  In my opinion they really upped their game when they introduced the Daydream line of skins about a year ago.  Now you can get those very skins for  as low as 50 and clothing for no higher than 25 L as part of their huge sale.  Cupcakes is making some changes...streamlining their skin and clothing lines.  All items that will not be moving to the new store lines are being discontinued and are significantly marked down.  I'm going to show you some of the model bags that are available for only 250 L.  They are a great deal; you get several skin (sometimes in several tones) in an exclusive makeup, a shape (not shown here), eyes and at least one outfit.  The sale ends this coming Wednesday so you still have lots of time to pick up all the goodies for a remarkable price.  I have paired the model bags with some of my favorite hairs from Hair Fair (slurls will indicate location) as well as some lovely new releases from Baby Monkey.

Hair Fair 2010: Rezlpsa

I've been showing a lot of the gifts at Hair Fair 2010 on Free*Style but what really excites me is all the amazing hair that you can get there beyond freebies.  Hair Fair 2010 is foremost a charity event that benefits Wigs for Kids, which creates wigs for children who have experienced hair loss, often due to chemotherapy.  Each designer must donate at least 50% of the proceeds to Wigs for Kids but many have donated more than one, some at 100 %.  We have seen how the generosity of designers and customers in SL have been able to have such a significant impact through donating to important charities and Hair Fair has always been a leader on that front.

That being said, I shop for a lot more than the freebies at Hair Fair.  All of the hairs are NEW, never before released items.  It was a little bit of heaven to marvel at the creativity of so many amazing SL designers.  I am thrilled that the first designer I am going to show off is Rezlpsa Luckstone of Rezlpsa, who is making her debut at Hair Fair!  Her new designs are so fresh and pure and available in many different color combinations.  I've yacked enough; let's see her work!

Rezlpsa: Mary - an adorable ponytail style.  Fresh and a touch sassy!
Rezlpsa: Jane - 50% of the proceeds for this item benefit Wigs for Kids. It's a nice mid-length middle part style that I have found very difficult to find.  This one is awesome.
Rezlpsa: Harriet - a perfect little bob. It's a great length and very versatile. A lot like my hair in RL!
Rezlpsa: Eliza.  I remember when Rezzie was making this hair and the painstaking effort she made into perfecting it.  It come in 2 tones and also has color chunks for a bit of fun.  It is absolutely one of my favorites!

Thank you Rezzie for all your hard work.  You are a fantastic addition to the Hair Fair line up! Rezlpsa is located on Sim 4 of Hair Fair here.

Skin worn in all photos is Laq: Tess2

Can you say Kawaii?

The adorable Hempy Weezles, designer and owner of ((RIPE)) is participating in the OMG That's Adorable gridwide sale where you can get all kinds of adorable items for 99 L or less.  Hempy has made two Kokeshi dolls.  One is a mini-avatar, which I show below, and the other is a doll for you to hold. Each is 99 L each.  I have very few alternative avatars but I am a sucker for cute tiny ones and this one certainly satisfies that craving.  If you want to see a list of participating designers as well as some photos check out http://miasnowinslblog.wordpress.com/ .

Shoe Fair: Last Call

The 2010 Shoe Fair wraps up tomorrow, the 22nd, and I thought a nice way to end my last post on it is to showcase a few of the shoes I purchased where 100 % of the proceeds benefited Souls4Souls, which distributed shoes to people in need all over the world.  I will keep the verbiage low because I want to get back and get a few more while I can!  PS. Shoe slurls are for the appropriate Shoe Fair sim.

Nova's Stockholm City Boot in Lipstick Red wins my award for the best steal for a charity item on Shoe Fair.  While I spend way too much money on clothing (and skin, hair, etc.) in SL, those of you that know me primarily through Free*Style know that I love a bargain!  These boots are smart and sexy and let me know I'm contributing while I cop a score!

One of the winners for me for the "I really don't need these but they are so cute!" awards goes to Courtisane for Devoue Sandal in Apple.  I defy you to say these are anything less than adorable with the polka dotted fabric and chunky woven base.

Last but not least, are R2's Wainani in Black with my versatility award.  The linen wedge makes it a good shoe for most anything but your heaviest outfits and the blow on top gives it a girlish flair.   I paired it with an adorable dress from Vesna, which is a new store for me, but has adorable clothing!

Shoe Fair: Gos

Slowly crawling out of bed from the worst flu I can remember since I was a kid to carry forth with more items from The Shoe Fair.  Right now there is such an abundance of events (sales OMG) going on in SL but Shoe Fair cannot be forgotten as it benefits Souls4Souls, which gives shoes worldwide to people in need.  Gos is sponsoring one of 4 sims at the fair and has marked down 50% the sexiness that are the Dare Booties in blue at the fair.  They are customizable with 3 different tones of blue as well as Viewer 2.0 ready and easy to tint (even when you use an unusual color skin as I did).  I paired both shoe selections with items available at half off at Maitreya.  Let's not discuss how much I spent, but I had a blast :)

Shoe Fair: Mayden Couture

Mayden Couture has a gorgeous pair of shoes at are exclusively available at Shoe Fair 2010.  The gorgeous Nicole shoe is available in 8 different colors.  It comes with a nice HUD that allows you to select from a variety of preset skintones and nail polish.  There is a cute charm set that dangles from the ankle strap that has a tasteful sparkle that you can easily turn off if you so desire.  Nicole is very well constructed and is a definite good choice for a sexy, strappy heel.

Also, a quick reminder that Phoenix Rising is closing it's doors in about a week.  All clothing is marked 100 L, including complete outfits that normally cost much more for individual pieces.  I've always enjoyed Phoenix for it's chic design and will miss them very much.

Shoe Fair: Ingenue

I am so honored to be chosen as one of the official bloggers of this summer's Shoe Fair.  It's a massive event covering 4 sims and showcases some of the best designers in SL footwear.  It benefits the charity, Soles4Soles, which distributes shoes to people in need all over the world.  Some designers have selected at least one item where 100 % of the proceeds benefit the charity, while others are donating a percentage of overall sales.  The event is very laid out, with lots of space between stores and a nice juxtaposition of clothing and animation designers between the stores.  Look for the little hay bales.  There are also gacha's near each sim landing point with some great, inexpensive prizes.

The first designer I would like to show is Betty Doyle from Ingenue.  I've been very impressed with Betty's shoe designs.  She has been at shoe making for about a year, give or take, and she has been dead-on exceptional from the start.  She has 2 new releases available at the fair as well as an exclusive pair of shoes that benefit Souls4Souls.
First off is Martha, a sweet little flat with ankle strap.  It is available in 12 colors for 225L per pair.  I paired it with one of the Film Crew tees from fri.day.  The Mummy shirt is one of three available at the Shoe Fair.  All versions are available at fri.day main store.
Credits:
Shoes: Ingenue: Martha in Blush
Shirt: fri.day: Film Crew tee - Mummy
Shorts: Fishy Strawberry: Billy Denim Shorts
Hair: fri.day: Anna in Delighted Blonde
Ingenue's other new release is the Fleur shoe, which is also available in 12 colors for 275 a pair.  Fleur is a lovely, classic heel with a darling daisy detail.  The dress is from Haven Designs and is one of the gacha prizes available at the fair.  Delora Starbrook, owner of Haven Designs is also the architect for this year's fair, so high-five!

Shoes: Ingenue: Fleur in Lemon
Dress: Haven Designs: Picnic Dress: Yellow
Necklace: Deco: D&P Necklace
Hair: fri.day: Cassidy.2 in Timid Brown

Ingenue's exclusive charity item in the Dianthus shoe in Bloom.  It is an amazing flat topped with a gorgeous sculpted flower.  I own this shoe in several colors because it is so chic.  I paired it with Cupcakes new Loopy Dress in Red.  The only thing that could have made it more perfect would be if I could have modded the color of the dresses flower to the same color as that on the shoe.
