8.13.2014: Sometimes the Pants Wear You

I have a "thing" for fetishy types of clothes that can be worn outside of RP. Pixicat's Rouge pants/boots for We <3 Role-Play are some of the most bad-ass looking pants I've seen in awhile.  I do not know areve, who is Pixicat, but I admire her terribly. She has amazing range, her mesh is great and I usually scoop up any new releases I can find of hers.  The textures on these pants...love.  I paired it up with Le Primatif's Kimono Blouse which is at the August round of FaMESHed because I really like yani Tryce's work, too. Plus I felt going all hard edge was just too obvious a choice :)
I am wearing Flounce's new release, Lana skin, in a darker tone and also added the "Beastly" brows for an updated look. Tableau Vivant's new Persephone hair for Collabor88 is gorgeous, and the version without the crown worked perfectly. Bliensen + MaiTai is all over the place lately and Plurabelle Laszlo's Mjolnir necklace gave a nice contrast to Le Primatif's solid top.

7.6.2014: Deep Thoughts

Hi there!  One of my little projects in SL is being one of the assistants for The Men's Dept.  I am most happy here when I am busy and I spend a lot of time on location at The Men's Dept. on the days leading up to it's opening.  I am so happy to be part of a well run event that features items for men.  Everything here is original content plus discounted from it's normal price.  And lots of designers include items for feminine avatars, which I love!
Set up was kind of slow this month because of it falling during Canada Day and Independence Day...or it felt like that to me and I got a little stir crazy hanging out so that I could be helpful to someone or at least maybe nag somebody.  And I started to feel like this, like the girl with the empty dancecard or the only person on the planet not running around with sparklers.  And had way too much time to brood.
I've been around SL for many years now and I debate off and on whether it's time for me to depart.  I know all of my friends who are also "oldbies" are pretty jaded, too, but many of them continue to log on to create, blog, run events, etc.  Most of them "do" something in SL, though I wonder what keeps us here, complaining about lag and big body parts, while other people eventually move on.
I love Eden, my avatar.  She is my first avatar and has always been my favorite.  With the recent talk of SL "closing down" I wonder what will happen to poor Eden if it does actually happen. Will our avatars be waiting for us like waiting for an event to open or will they finally be free to be themselves? And now, with clothes just starting to get really good!

Photos taken at TMD at junk's lil booth.  The following items I'm wearing are featured at the July round of TMD:
Shirt: TonkTastic: Commando Sweater (for women):  Tonktastic is a new designer for TMD and is offering this fantastic fitted mesh shirt for women.  Each shirt contains a HUD so that you can change shirt textures as well as the patches on the arms.  You can even add a nameplate so that you can add your name or something funny.
Pants: Deadwool: Joad Pants - Desert: These pants were made for men but I am wearing them in the same size as I do mesh item's for women.  They are sublimely made, as is anything that comes from Deadwool.
Shoes: Milk Motion: Double-Strapped Sandals - Marie Lauridsen of Milk is offering these fabulous sandals for both men's and women's Slink Bare feet. You get to chose from 15 different textures, patterns and solids, and they are as comfortable as my RL sandals, ftw.

6.9.2014: Essential Summer Outfit

I saw this dress in green on my friend, Qopi, and I just knew I had to have it. The Wyeth Dress is from Deadwool and it certainly does remind me of the dress worn in the painting, Christina's World, from American Painter, Andrew Wyeth.  It's a shortened version of the very classic shirtwaist dress and I love it for it's timelessness.  The Cutout Sandals are from Le Primatif and I just had to grab the navy pair!  I have a hard time finding really good navy's in SL and these were it.  Plus, I've been loving all the adorable sandals that are out this summer for Slink bare feet.  Both of these items are available at half price at the current round of The Chapter 4.

Truth just released his new Oceana hair for the newest round of Collabor88.  The theme for June's Collab round is Lighthouse, so the items have been inspired by things nautical.  The ribbon has several different textures available in solids and prints and runs through the braid for a bit of fun!

5.4.2104: The Fantasy Gacha Carnival is Open!

I've been trying to complete this post for 2 days but my SL time in-world has been one thing after another. My apologies for getting behind. The Fantasy Gacha Carnival's May round started yesterday and the event is fantastic and HUGE.  I was able to get over there the night before it opened and the amount and variety of gachas there is just astounding.  The layout is basically round so that whether you turn left or right you will be able to make it through the maze of machines eventually.  There is a landing point inside a small building. If you walk directly forward when you land, you will be able to get away from that crowd and leave the building so you can then decide which way to begin.  I always go left because most people turn right :)
I've been trying to show a decent mix of items from as many designers as possible as the options of items there is so plentiful.  I fell immediately in love with the Japants from aii. I like to show off some skin but I still want to be covered up so these worked really well.  You can win them in several colors and the rare versions include the little hanging straps and beads off the hip.  I used Wimey's top from her Forests of the Orinoco collection which includes both tops and skirts.
I am enthralled with both the face tattoos as well as the face straps from Axix.  The realistic detail of the straps is quite impressive and I think they are just cool.  They come in several colors.  I probably did not fit this perfectly, because I'm just challenged lately, but I used Wasabi Pills Ingrid hair from Fameshed as it is gorgeous and was set back well to show the straps.  Wasabi Pills has hit it out of the ballpark with some of their new hairs as of late and I can't wait to show you what is also available at Fantasy Fair!
