Color Challenge: Lemon Chiffon

I think I fell of the edge of the SLearth for a few days there but RL just got super busy.  I am trying to be diligent about Luna Jubilee's color challenge and this week's color, Lemon Chiffon, was just too pretty.  I'm getting ready to do about a billion posts for the end of Culture Shock and for Home Expo, but I had to go digging for some light summery yellows.  I was able to combine both old and new items for this look.  It started with Atomic's Summertime skirt, which I've had for 2 years now so it might be retired. Ingenue's Mon Petit Cami worked well under the highwaisted skirt.  I had to include Pididdle's new little mesh scarf, Parisian Summer, that is out at The Attic's adorable new collection. Baby Monkey's Erin pumps are out at a discount for group members as part of her weekly color challenge offering.  MissAllSunday Lemon from Wasabi Pills, has cranked out yet another amazing new mesh hair, Cookie.  This one is non-rigged mesh and has two resizable parts to it, the asymmetrical bang and the back so that you can edit their placement individually.  You really do amaze me!  Finally, Culture Shock ends on the 26th of May and the darling Postcard from the Beach pose prop from Magpie and the exclusive skin from Glam Affair are both charity items.

Color Challenge: Deep Pink

Jacqui should really be around for this one because she is definitely the pink girl of the Crybabies but I'm no slack when it comes to the color.  I didn't need to dig far to find the color in my inventory as I had just hit the Mesh Me Up sale at Purple Moon, where all of the new items in the mesh collection are just L$59.  We've all seen plenty of tube and balloon mesh dresses by now but this one has wonderful pleating that reminds me of some of my favorite non-mesh MichMi dresses.  It's chic and elegant and and comes in satins (solids and gradients) and leathers for the sale, which runs through the 20th.  The Cachet shoes are one of my favorite newer releases from Baby Monkey.  Pixieplumb Flanagan finds a wide selection of her shoes for each weeks color challenge and offers a 50% discount to group members.  The group is usually 250 to join but every month she offers a free-join weekend and as of this moment it is free to join (and she is not online to change it) so if you hurry you can get in for free! Je Suis' short Aimee necklace works perfectly with the dress and since so many of her items are color change it was easy to make matchy.

Color Challenge: Shuttle Grey

In RL I live in a northern climate and grey is a shade I know a lot about.  It's odd how I am drawn to it even in SL even though there are very few sims that are blustery year 'round.   The challenge for me was calling good enough alone as I have so much.  In the end I was happy with a casual look that included one of my favorite pants from Maitreya and a sweater from Baiastice.  The hair is a new style from Wasabi Pills and right now can be found at Fantasy Faire 2012.

Color Challenge: Bright Turquoise

It's been a few weeks since I've had the time to do a color challenge and this is a great color.  This spring is all about colors that pop and I found my best match in this well loved favorite from Picadi Jasha.  I miss that store and will forever kick myself for not buying every single piece of jewelry they sold when they closed.  The necklace is also a favorite from Kyccie's, another store that closed (is that how you know you are getting to be an old avatar?)  Oh for pities sake, I just noticed my stockings aren't sold anymore either though Shania Singh does have some of her cute socks on marketplace.
Thankfully I am not a complete washout as both my hair and skin are NEW!  Wasabi Pills newest mesh hair, Shiki is just so darling.  It includes matching hairbases and a HUD that lets you chose from many color options for both elastic bands and barrettes (separately).  I've become such a die hard fan of MissAllSunday's hair.  The lovely porcelain skin is from the new line, Leah, from Glam Affair.  Called Contessina, it is available at a special price a The Gallery Gift Shop. It includes skins for 3 different brow colors as well as with/without hair base.  There is a gift version available as well (an awesome gift!) as well as complementing male skin by Tableau Vivant (also has gift option).

Before I forget, the Pose Fair is under way and I am a huge pose addict like most bloggers.  The poses I am using today are all from Exposeur's new Blissful set.  RubyStarlight Writer, owner and creator of Exposeur includes both male and female versions of poses in the new sets, which is pretty cool.  Ruby is tip-top at pose making and I've been a loyal customer for ages.  Thanks, Ruby!

How I feel upon discovering that LL will no longer make data publicly available.
BTW, this week's Color Challenge by Luna Jubilee is Avocado!
I used to be a pacifist and continue to be so but cutting us off from information does not endear you to me, LL.  Shame on you.

Color Challenge: Dandelion

I can't believe I missed 2 weeks with RL craziness and other demands on SL!  I will probably make up the other 2 because it nags at me.  Most of my stuff is oldbies but Rezzie lured me in with her ad for this adorable skirt.  The necklace harkens back to the red stick hunt.  I had on red hair but I thought I looked like Ronald MacDonald with french fries around my neck.

Color Challenge: Alice Blue

I'm a bit behind the 8-ball doing the color challenge this week.  RL and my inventory took over my time on Monday but with some new releases and events to cover I am moving back into major blogging mode.  However, I wouldn't feel right if I didn't do Luna Jubilee's weekly color challenge.  Being a northern girl, it appeals to my sense of climate and happily I didn't have to don an Alice in Wonderland dress as this color a color that was favored by Teddy Roosevelt's daughter, Alice Roosevelt Longworth. The dress is a golden oldie of mine, a DCNY dollarbie for New Year's 2010 as well as other things found in the treasure trove which is my inventory.

Color Challenge: Patina

Happy Monday!  Some people are absolute speed freaks with these color challenges.  When I looked this morning there were already almost 80 responses of completed posts!  I feel like a total slowpoke even though each week I do it earlier.  I refuse to do it sooner; it's become part of my Monday ritual once my son is finally off to school and I have some time to myself.  I love the color of patina; we have a gorgeous old basilica near my home that has a copper dome and it has aged to such a lovely patina.

The upside of having a gargantuan inventory is that so far I have had plenty of items for this challenge.  It was hard to sort out the all the 'greeny' and 'bluey' things but some of my household items actually helped blend the colors for this picture.
My only new item is a must have for all of you doing the color challenge. Mocksoup Graves of MOCK Cosmetics sent her group a "color block" gift that has several of the next few weeks colors in it!  The group is not free but Mock has to be one of the most insanely generous women I know here and she is damn good at her craft.

I've not been online much lately but I have been slowly culling my inventory.  Jacqui and I are keeping track of our progress on the sidebar of the blog.  Hopefully, I can make some good progress this week and feel like I deserve to blog more.

LunaJubilee's Color Challenge: Wk 4: Iron

I am having a lot of fun with Luna Jubilee's color challenges.  This week was a lot harder than I expected.  I have an abundance of greys and silvers in my inventory but what really appeals to me about this challenge is that I can be totally obsessive and find the best matches.  I try and stay as literal to the color swatch we are given.  I'm not a very literal person but I can be a perfectionist, which is quite a balancing act.  I hope you enjoy the results!

Color Challenge: Electic Indigo or The Day Eden was Ready to Throw her Computer out the Window

Oh, man. I've about had it with this dumb computer.  It was a top of the line iMac a few years ago but talk about controlled obsolescence; you cannot switch out graphics cards or make any updates.  They are like a big pretty laptop on a stick, which would be sweet if I still had the means to go buy a new stick, but with a teen eating me out of house and home and house projects, it just cannot be justified so I can take purty SL photos. Where is that sugar daddy when I need him?

This weeks color challenge was a hard one for me.  I haven't been a big fan of the purples since grape pop was a childhood treat.  But thank heavens for Zaara!  I love her Mahari dress and I remembered getting the indigo one back when SL Daily Deals was an event.  (I really loved that event but I can only imagine what a nightmare it was to administer.)  What's even more super about this dress is that it captures both the blues and purples that make up this color.  If you google 'electric indigo' you see some conflicting colors for it.  I am beginning to really respect Luna for offering these challenges.  Even picking a color can be really tricky!  G Field's lovely Eve pumps in purple had enough blue tones in them to work for me and I just had to use the Phlox facepaint from Osakki that came with the superbomb purple jumpsuit I picked up at her closing sale.   One of my alts rezzed at D!va and I saw the new style on the Lucky Board and went "Zoinks!  I need that!" and tped Madam Eden over there to win the board and pick up another version of it in Moonstone.  Eden is really selfish and does not share well with her alts!

Color Challenge: Coral or The Day Eden Broke Down and Blogged Something

I'm finally getting back on track from the holidays and decided that I want to join in on Luna Jubilee's second year of the 52 Weeks of Color Challenge.  I missed last week, which was champagne which picks at my OCD tendencies but one of my resolutions for this year is to let some of the small things go, so I jumped in.  Then Jacqui says to me, "You are wearing brown, not coral!", for which I snarled at her but secretly worried would expose me as a really bad blogger.  But it's my first try and Ms. P can do her own challenge (because she is)!

There were a lot of items in my inventory that were called coral and there was a ton of variation.  Probably the most perfectly coral colored item is Whippet & Buck's cropped boatneck shirt.  I topped it with Pig's Lady's Like Sweaters which she has for free at The Free Dove.  There are also a pair of her awesome Socks Mit Suspenders in the package.  Drinkinstein Sorbet from The Sea Hole has such a marvelous eye for color and her new skirt for Collabor88 has one with coral undertones and I thought would be a great option for tying together the shirts.  I chose Bliensen & MaiTai's Dreaming Klimdt necklace, which is available at the Black Market for my accessory with it's coral touches.  I even found a makeup from Mock that has coral in it.  So yay for matchiness!
