Lindens Go Poof

Wow! Has this been an expensive weekend in SL. The Geeks'n'Nerds event is still on, the Arcade has opened, there were 10 billion Black Friday sales but it's been fun.  My outfit is an amalgamation of those two events plus other purchase from my 5 day shopping binge.

DU! No, U!

This is how I feel when there is a Designer's United event!  Honestly, I adore this event and I have waited YEARS for it to return.  A fashionista's dream it is...highly skilled designers creating exclusive one-of-a-kind items that I treasure forever in my own special overflowing SL museum called Inventory.  This is why I can't leave SL.  Think what could happen!  The theme of the event this time is Surrealism so don't be looking for basic tube dresses here...they will not be found. Many Lindens were spread among many designers today and they deserve it because the one sad thing about exclusive is that; they can't ever sell the items again.  Today I am wearing So Many Styles Son of Man Coat, which I adore for it's tweedy vintage coat ala housedress style. Was so hard to limit myself to one!  The freakishly amazing and yet really cool shoes are from HANDverk, who really didn't need to have a theme to make weird things because that is what Daphne Klossvsky is..strange and how I love her for it. Oh also, the shoes can be purchased as a Slink med feet add-on or regular Linden feetage types.  I am wearing the regular shoes because Appy needs to come back and make all her socks for mesh feets.
Also, joy upon joy, Glam Affair released a new group gift today.  I wear GA skins almost exclusively and well the new Angelica with bright happy eyes was like so perfect for this outfit it defies belief.  I know!

Yer not much if you aren't Dutch

Code Red

I've hardly had time to be online lately, but I snuck in the last few days to chat up some friends and go blow a few billion Lindens at The Arcade and then I started going to the yard sales for them and well.. I got a little obsessed.  But on to the stuff here.   Code Bastard Redgrave (or Codie, as she is also known) has owned and operated the Rouge sim for years and is now feeling the pinch of declining funds.  She is not asking anyone to save her but there will be a 90 hour party at the Rouge Lounge from Friday through Sunday, with nonstop DJ'ed music and dancing. Several designers are offering exclusive designs and I hopped over there early today to check out some of the exclusive reds that Kallisti Burns from Discord Designs made for the event, some in styles that have never been released before.
My favorite was Sydd; which is perfect as I wanted to butch up this cute mesh herringbone suit from Dew.  The suit has a slim cut and the pants have a clean higher waist and trim ankle length pants.  It's a versatile suit that can be dressed up or down.  I kept it a clean look with simple bolo from [Handverk] and added bright lips to one of the yummy Glam Affair skins that can be scored at The Arcade.

More details about the rouge sim, the party (tp here) etc can be found on Codie's flickr page.  Most of us SL oldtimers know it well and I'm happy regardless of the outcome to see it celebrated.

How I feel upon discovering that LL will no longer make data publicly available.
BTW, this week's Color Challenge by Luna Jubilee is Avocado!
I used to be a pacifist and continue to be so but cutting us off from information does not endear you to me, LL.  Shame on you.

Color Challenge: Coral or The Day Eden Broke Down and Blogged Something

I'm finally getting back on track from the holidays and decided that I want to join in on Luna Jubilee's second year of the 52 Weeks of Color Challenge.  I missed last week, which was champagne which picks at my OCD tendencies but one of my resolutions for this year is to let some of the small things go, so I jumped in.  Then Jacqui says to me, "You are wearing brown, not coral!", for which I snarled at her but secretly worried would expose me as a really bad blogger.  But it's my first try and Ms. P can do her own challenge (because she is)!

There were a lot of items in my inventory that were called coral and there was a ton of variation.  Probably the most perfectly coral colored item is Whippet & Buck's cropped boatneck shirt.  I topped it with Pig's Lady's Like Sweaters which she has for free at The Free Dove.  There are also a pair of her awesome Socks Mit Suspenders in the package.  Drinkinstein Sorbet from The Sea Hole has such a marvelous eye for color and her new skirt for Collabor88 has one with coral undertones and I thought would be a great option for tying together the shirts.  I chose Bliensen & MaiTai's Dreaming Klimdt necklace, which is available at the Black Market for my accessory with it's coral touches.  I even found a makeup from Mock that has coral in it.  So yay for matchiness!

Culture Shock: Sassy Kitty / Di's Opera / Mango Mango!

Culture Shock is in full swing and runs through May 22nd.  150 of the best designers in SL have gathered to earn funds for Médecins Sans Frontières (Doctors Without Borders).  Today I have a variety of items to show you, including a freebie, from the event.
Sassy Kitty has a slew of items in which they are offering a portion of their profits to Doctors without Borders.  My personal favorite are the black Puffy Shorts, with it's undone belt and bloomer bottoms.  I'm a sucker for bloomers!  I paired it with the free gift from Somnia, an argyle corset and black bra.  The  bra and panties are available as a tattoo layer in addition to clothing layers, which is way cool.  I absolutely adore the Old Luggage set from Di's Opera.  It is one of Di Hoorenbeek's charity donations for the event.  The set includes 3 suitcases and high-style poses that rock because the suitcase doesn't eat into your body.  I am not using one of the poses here because I needed to show the pants but I will on another post.
The skin I'm wearing is from Mango Mango.  My pal, Sileny Noel, the creator of Mango Mango, worked her little tushy off for Culture Shock and has released her new Vintage Sweetie skin in bunches of tones and options.  It's a nice clean makeup so its easy to add eyeshadows as you choose.  She also made a full body freckly tattoo layer, which I am wearing.  Really cute, Sileny! <3

The Day After the Day We All Missed the Sweetheart's Dance

Word is there were many sticken, sad faces across the grid when the Sweetheart's Dance at Lula went down in a big crash.  But fear not, faithful shoppers, much goodness and exclusivity remains available today.  My keen nose for freebies rarely fails me and pointed me immediately in the direction of Ooh Lala! Funky Hearts Lingerie and Pin by Nylon Pinkney.   Many items at the sales event can be described as "messy" so it leaves me to wonder if the dark shading on the panties is the "funky" used in naming the set.  All you girls know what I mean.  Anyways, I like them and anything where I can wear a sculpted heart on my head always makes me happy.
I love lingerie but sadly don't tend to wear it during my two main passions: shopping and sorting my mess of an inventory, but I could not resist also the fetching Crystal Canyon Set from my favorite valentine, Ms. Apatia Hammerer from Pig.  Appy has an amazing eye for funny details which I adore.  Even the back of the bra has amazing clasps but cooking dinner for my eating machine 13 year old took precedence over more shots.  I paired it with the lovely Journey set from Aluinn as I thought it drew out the bow on the bra!
There are so many exclusive items from many of your favorite, trendy and insanely popular designers.  So hurry on by!
