It's been a long time

Wow! I hadn't realized how long it had been since I did a blog post. A long, loooooooong time! In my defense, I haven't been slacking - just extremely busy. Holidays, 2 sim rebuilds, and my store. Ugh! Also, my inventory had gotten so bad, I didn't change clothes for weeks at a time, because it would of taken me an hour just to find an outfit. wheeee Luckily, I've had a little extra time this week, and I finally got my crap organized. Go me! *nerdsmile*
Anyhoo, I saw this dress on someone while I was on a routine shopping trip a while back, and I was all OMGZTHATISSOCOOL! It's from Peqe. I absolutely love the way the sleeves are. Totally awesome. I had gotten the wire collar from Zibska back during Mystic Realms Faire. I think it gives the dress an edgy flair.
As for the location of the photo, I looked all over, trying to find a spot with the right vibe. I found a sim called China. It is very minimalistic, but totally fabulous. The very few items on the sim look like charcoal drawings, of sorts. You definitely should check it out. I'll be squeezing out a few more photos this weekend, so stay tuned! <3

Is There Still Hope?

My husband, who was the sweetest man in the world, loved birds of prey.  He always said they were so interesting and smart. He died suddenly a few years ago in November and so when I see these birds I always smile a bit as if he is sending me a message (as well as hope they don't catch any little cuties).  Consider it just a bit of my strangeness. The November round of Genre is post apocalyptic not really getting down with happy holidays, but Genre has never claimed to be mainstream.  Bliensen + MaiTai is a regular participant in the event and Plurabelle Laszlo has created a Bottle Cap mask and necklace for the event.  I first remember Bleinsen + MaiTai for a free Bottle Cap necklace in the store about a zillion years ago when I was blogging for Free*Style.  It was with that necklace that I started to love her work so I feel it is only natural that I don the new edgier set.  The necklace comes in versions for both men and women and the mask is not rigged, so I don't see why it could not be worn by a male face with a bit of improvisation.

Ison's outfit for this month's Collabor88, really fit for the look I was going for.  The bandage top is modern and deconstructed and the back details are glorious.  The side lace pants are pretty darn sweet themselves, with really outstanding work on the side details. Wasabi Pills adorable Kokoro hair for the Xiasumi Festival, which runs until the end of this month, is really quite exquisite and added enough sweetness to not leave my look seeming too harsh.

I was lucky enough to be able to preview the Mystic Realms Fair which officially opened today.  I think I went back at least 3 times.  Not only is the event huge with 2 packed sims, it offers so many amazing, high quality products.  Voshie Paine, Arica Storaro, Catheryne Darkfury and their team deserve high accolades for the setting and the collections. RP/Fantasy gear is no longer the exclusive territory of Goreans and other RP'ers and I am certain this has some controversy for the fundamentalists. This liberal Yankee girl embraces the inclusion of these works into fashionista land! It forces me to take an even bolder approach to styling, whether it's dressed in candy, battle gear or street chic.

It was instalove for me with TheMuses Callon outfit.  I remember the designer, Dolce Blackflag, from the days of PixelDolls and recognize the elaborate texturing that was so distinctive in those designs.  The outfit is a combination of mesh and system layers, which is actually quite practical for layering as well as movement.  The cloak is color change and the boots are sold separately. I've become latecomer on the bandwagon of Damselfly hair, but I've recently aquired several pieces and look forward to seeing their offerings at various events. The Sanica style for the fair is crazy messy in a good way and perfect for photos. Axix has a fantastic pose set at the event, Lady Crow, which has a lot of movement and include crows set for each pose.  Essences skin offering for the fair, Pearl, features light golden touches on the eyes and there are lipcolors available to purchase as well.  (Freebie alert! There is a free sample of lip color at the fair).

Candy & Cupcakes & Cookies OH MY

Taking a break from my Mystic Realms Faire hauls, I thought I'd highlight another terrific event that's going on until October 17th - The CANDY FAIR! Definitely the sweetest (no pun intended) event in all the land; you could get a cavity just from walking around for 10 minutes!

This outfit (which is PERFECT for my look, I might add) is from The Sugar Garden. It comes in about 8 diff colors I think, but I LOVE chocolate, so of course I had to get that flavor. My shoes are from the KoiKoi gacha machine (yes, I still have a gacha addiction. I need a support group or something.). They are so yummy, you basically want to take one of and lick it. The heel even looks like a cone! They are simply brilliant. And the sucker - OMG the sucker! The coolest/funniest/most ADORBS sucker ever. You can WHACK PEOPLE WITH IT! If the person you're whacking is wearing a "Candy Crusher" HUD, you can actually knock them out, once you bonk them enough. And every time you swing, it poofs candy particles. SO CUTE!

Finishing off my look is a candy fair exclusive skin by Essences, called Ingrid. I swear, I should just pitch a tent in Inka's back yard. It would save me teleporting time. This one has 5 different makeup variations, and each is available in her new tones of pale 01, pale 02, medium 01 & medium 02. Another line to add to my collection! :D

If you haven't been to Candy Fair yet, you definitely don't want to miss it. But a warning: you might have to hit up the dentist afterwards, from all the sweets!

Back in the day, I was quite the costume queen. Not from a roleplay perspective, but simply for fun. A friend and I actually had running competitions to see which of us could out-costume the other. (we never did come to a conclusion on that one.) For the past while, I haven't really worn anything not considered "normal" .....mostly because I'm too busy to change clothes more than twice a month, and I rarely leave my platform anyway .......but I must say, all these nifty events going on lately is leaving me wanting to get back in the swing.

This outfit from G-Field is perfect for an elven motif. It comes in 4 different colors, and is exclusive to the Mystic Realms Faire. I remembered I'd gotten these boots from COCO ages ago, and it turned out that they went perfectly with this look. The bow, however, is the cherry on top of this outfit. It's definitely the coolest bow & arrow set I've seen. Admittedly, there are lots of features with this thing that I didn't dabble in, but what I did play with totally rocks. It comes with a hud that allows you to draw your bow & shoot stuff (*looks at Eden*), and when it's not drawn, the get-up rests on your back. One of the key aspects of THAT bit is that it's all 1 prim/object/whatever so it makes fitting it to your avatar a BREEZE. That might not mean much to some people, but for me, that is comparable to winning the lottery, and being fed chocolate dipped bacon.

 Finished off with some accessories I picked up at the fair, along with the beautiful hut from Sweet Revolutions, and my job was done! *goes back to looking for things to shoot at*

Princess & her Castle

The Mystic Realms Faire opens on October 10th, and I must say, there is a lot of FABULOUS stuff there!  I found a lot of new stores (new to me, anyway) that I'll definitely have to add to my "stalk" list. One of the stores I came across is called Kalopsia. They have some fabulous fantasy type items (with built in poses!), one of which is the coolest castle I've ever seen!

It's actually made to be more of a small decorative item, but I just had to blow it up to life size cuz well ....it's the coolest castle I've ever seen! (did I say that already?) While you're grabbing the awesomesauce castle, you can find these stone arches, the bench, the well, and the flying leaves. All at VERY reasonable prices!
While on my journey, I found this beautiful flowered head wreath from Evie's Closet, which comes with a matching choker. There are several colors to choose from, but I chose the red one for my photo. The lovely dress I'm wearing is from The Library, called the "White Queen". It is available in several colors, and it includes optional sleeves, and a halter with a collar. Calico has the perfect elven princess hairstyle available, called "Marian". It's styled with woven braids in the back, which come with a color change hud.

I must say, from what I've seen so far, the creators have really outdone themselves with this fair, and I can't wait to go back for more goodies! If you'd like to get a jump start before opening day, you can check out their shopping guide. See you there! ^.^

I've had this dress for like a year. It's from The Secret Store, and its called the E-Motion dress. It has animated clouds going across it, and is one of the most clever pieces of clothing I've seen!

I'd been wanting to do a photo using it, but I just couldn't think of a proper concept. However, after finding these cute clouds in my (bottomless pit of an) inventory, it came to me. This interpretation sort of sums up an aspect of my RL atm: Holding on to baggage. So yeah, this pic turned out having 2 purposes. (and yay, I finally got to photo my dress!) Breeze Blowing.....

Well, I haven't blogged in AGES. I've been busy helping out with the Home Expo this year! (If you haven't checked it out yet, what are you waiting for?? It ends soon!) Now that most of the work is done, I decided to catch up on some photo taking. :D

I'd gotten this pose pack from HopScotch back during Fashion for Life (I think). It's called "With the wind". It came with 5 poses, and 2 versions of the scarf thingys (sheer, and solid). I'd been trying to find the perfect outfit to wear with it. Oddly enough, I was out shopping the other day and I saw a girl with this dress on. I LURVE IT! It just looks very .....regal/bold yet romantic to me. After the initial IM of OMGILOVEYOURDRESS-WHERE'SITFROM??, she was kind enough to point me to Peqe! This is one of those dresses that can be worn for all sorts of looks, just by changing your accessories. It comes in several different colors, and was very reasonably priced. A couple of weeks ago, Eden did a post featuring a lighthouse that she has out on her newly decorated land. Not only is it adorbs, but she filled it with the most fitting furniture ever. It's like the pirate fairies came in, and told her what to decorate with. She did a FABULOUS job. So, in honor of said adorableness, I had to take advantage ......and mooch off of her hard work! :D

Retro Dinin'

The new round at Collabor88 is all about retro. Like 50's diner retro. I happen to love the 50's. I wish I woulda been around in the 50's cuz everything looked so cool, but that's neither here nor there. Anyhoo. Retro stuff always makes for some really great photos, so when I landed and saw all this fab 50's diner stuff, it was ON! I decided to include the fabulous Eden and Kat for this shoot, so they could show off all their new goodies from our shopping trip. Plus, we needed a rest and a food break after all that shopping. - Except me. I didn't get to rest cuz I had to keep bringing Kat milkshakes. *sigh*

Floorplan and The Loft have some great sets available to fill up your home (or diner), which include the table & chairs, the lamps, the posters, and the cute stack of coke bottles & table accessories. My dress (I'm on the right) is by katat0nik, adoringly called the "Diner Dress". It comes in a variety of colors, and is all hand drawn. That store always has the cutest things! Eden (middle) is sporting the new dress from The Secret Store. There's several different patterns to choose from, and the style goes perfectly with the new shoes from Hucci! Kat (left) is looking all "bopper chic" in the skinny slacks from Tres Blah, which are a very versatile style, and topped it off with the cute knotted shirt from Teefy. Both are available in multiple colors, and are extremely cute!
All in all, we had a fab time grabbing up all these goodies. When the day was done, Eden and I wound up having to carry Kat away from the table though. I guess I shoulda cut her off before that last one. ;p

I busted Kat's Bubble

Out on a routine shopping trip the other day with my partner in crime, Kat Alderson, we landed at Monso. While I was scouting for goodies, she noticed a gacha machine that had the cutest wearable speech bubbles. Despite my trying to stay away (far away) from gacha's, I just had to look! They had several different sayings, but one was just perfect for Kat. "Yeah! I'm Famous!" If you know her at all, you'd swear this one was made for her. I, being the eternal smartass, also found one to go with it. The yin to her yang, so to speak. :D

Graveyard Stalking

The other day when Eden and I did a photo shoot, she took me to a sim called The Trace. I'm always on the lookout for great photo sims, and I must say, this one is just wonderful! It's very well done, they have several different "scenes" on the sim, and the best part? THEY HAVE BUILD TURNED ON so you can rez stuff! \o/

Anyway, as I was looking around, I found the most quaint little graveyard (can a graveyard be quaint?) which set the stage for today's look! The adorbs dress I'm wearing is from Tres Blah, which you can find at this month's Collabor88 event. It comes in around 8 colors, and is versatile enough to either cute up, or goth down. I wanted to add a little fantasy flair to my outfit, so I paired the dress with the Vinnitsa Sandals from Hucci (also at Collabor88) - of which I adoringly call "The Butterfly Shoes", cause they have the cutest little butterflies on the heels! They are available in many colors, and I do believe are only L$88, if I recall correctly. I picked up a few more items along the way, topped it off with a dolly-type hair from D!va, and my look was complete!
If you're looking for a nice place to relax, or to take some awesome photos (or both), I definitely recommend checking out The Trace. I see a lot more shoots from there in my future. ^.^

Eden & Fallacy Pretending to be Casual

Fallacy, of course, wants to do a post together on the night when SL is not allowing us to TP ANYWHERE! But like all things SL, things went back to normal.  You just have to go with the flow, but there is a certain amount of camaraderie in us all being stuck in the same boat. The grid right now is flooded with pretty things, springy things, and it feels good, at least to me who lives in the north and suffered through the worst winter.  Fallacy, my southern belle, got her share this year, too.  So, we've been happily skipping through the stores and current events and have both put together the cutest ensembles.  Eden, on the left, has on a hodgepodge of items, and I think instead of saying it both here and in the credits, I will throw in thoughts about what I loved about these items down below.  Fallacy, on the right, is as cute as I've ever seen her and gets credit for the photo. I get credit for suffering through Fallacy getting the right skin, location, and angle, lol.  I really do love her.

Surrounded by Cuteness

OHai! So, I don't usually buy cute things for my avatar, cuz well, I just can't pull off "cute" as a general rule, (I pride myself on having a permanent scowl on my face - it's more intimidating *snarls*) BUT I came across so many adorable things this week, I just had to cave.

It all started when I found the most ADORBS starry blush at The Skin Fair 2014, from Adore&Abhor. There's 11 blushes in the pack, with & without stars, and its FREE! Then I came across the Harrah dress from coldLogic. It's available in 8 colors, and the style makes it perfect for spring! Next was the March group gift from Moon. A totally cute hair, in a bubblegum pink tone called "Pritty in Pink". There's a L$200 join fee, but you can also buy this color in the "Ombre Dolly" pack, if you'd prefer. (Although I recommend you join the group, as they have some fabulous hairs!) The final straw was when I visited The Dressing Room Fusion today. A new round just started, and they have a LOT of great stuff! I'm a HUGE Essences fan, and she has 3 new skins available for only L$70 each. One, of which, I knew would go great with my new dress. And when I found the rainbow headband by pr!tty during my trip, I knew that was the perfect final accessory for my "cute" theme.

For my photo scene, I decided to make use of the awesomely adorable sheep from d-lab, which was in the Fifty Linden Friday round for this week. They come in 2 tones, and have 4 variations in each pack - one of which is animated! They also have built in poses, so you can sit on them. SO CUTE! And then I added 3 items from my lovely friend Andel Rhiadra, owner of A.D.D. Andel! - Hanging Wire Hearts, String Lights, and Party Balloons which you can find at the Adore&Abhor Anniversary event.
I don't know, but for somebody that can't pull off cute, I think it turned out pretty well! :D See you next time! <3

A day in the life of Fallacy

First off, HI! I'm very honored that Eden has been so gracious as to allow me to blog here with her! *hugs Eden* I love her to pieces, and I really hope I do her blog justice! :D

For my first post, I though I would do a little comic strip, of sorts, to show off my find of the century! Anybody that knows me, knows my luck with gacha machines. They are evil things, that I firmly believe house magical trolls who have some sort of deal going with karma, and leprechauns. Neither, of which, like me - apparently. Anybody who's played those blasted machines know full well how difficult it is to get the particular item you want (unless you're in good with the leprechauns), and if you want the rare, well ......yeah. So, on a routine shopping trip the other day, I visited the "Luck of the Irish Gacha Fair", where I found the BEST POSE SET EVER CREATED! It's from NanTra, and it's called "Gimme my *%&*$! Rare". I've never met the creator, but when I saw that, I wanted to tacklehug her, and possibly give her a foot rub. She completely captured the entire gacha experience with 1 pose series. So, behold! "A day in the life of Fallacy".

This, ladies & gentlemen, pretty much sums up my gacha trips.

I did manage to get a few items that I wanted - one, of which, will be pictured below. A totally cute necklace, from Cute Poison. But even if I wouldn't of gotten anything else the entire day, those poses DEFINITELY made it worth the trip! :D

Last Hurrah: Chic2

Chic2 will be ending on the 24th.   Now is a great time to hit it one last time and make sure you didn't miss anything!  RL has been jam-packed and SL is about as hectic as it's ever been.  I'm sure many of you can empathize -- sometimes it's rather impossible to get a few free minutes to accomplish the tasks you intended to do when you logged in.   My friends, Lynndia and Zazzy, visited me to show off their new avatars, so here we are in a family portrait.  I was completely amazed by the new mesh deer avatar by Water Horse and the beagle by Happy Mood is about as cute as it can be.

Most of the items in the photos can be found at Chic2.  I adore BENT's Country Chic Barn prop.  There are 10 built in animations, all adjustable.  I could have goofed around with this prop all day.  I loved JustB when the store had an inworld presence and I've been thrilled to see her work again at recent CHIC Management events.  The new velvet pants are available in standard sizes and hopefully, she will add them to her Marketplace collection after the end of the event. [A]renesmee is a new store to me and her adorable mesh vests added a nice touch of casual chic.  In the photo just above, is Zenith's mesh maxi dress in an interesting brocade.  The prim belt attaches separately so you can adjust the placement to your shape. Chloe has some adorable HoneyComb jewelry at Chic2 and will be releasing a full line at Vintage Fair. I look forward to it.  Wasabi Pills released Anais 2 for Chic 2 and is unponied version of one of my all-time favorite releases from her!

Izzie Button is one of those designers that can do about anything.  Her beautiful Anne dresses for Chic2 are available in 6 soft pastels that are so perfect for warm summer days. Pomme d' Amour's Birds & Bees hair for Chic2 has a jauntily tipped fedora in happy tropical colors so I had to add the Parrot Necklace from [trs] that is exclusively available at the Black Market.  The skin in all the photos is from Essences and also available at Chic2.  The new Rowena skin is available in 5 tones and includes tattoo'd cleavage, freckles, moles and eyelashes.  Happy Birthday CHIC, one last time!

Look! We Get to be all Matchy and Glamorous!

I've not even had a chance to look at all the feeds but I'm guessing that they are absolutely full of posts about the Vintage Fair, which starts today at 4 PM SLT.  Let me say this: It deserves every little bit of press it gets!  It has been very well organized by the folks at Chic Management and every designer I've seen has busted their butt to offer amazing items.  There is a bit of everything, including wearables, of course, but also poses and furniture.  It runs for 3 weeks and I've been previewing it for 2 days and could use more time to really check things out.  But alas, last I checked, things don't run according to my whims and I'm really excited to hear what people find at the fair that tickles their fancy.

Hempy and I had all these grand plans to take a photo together at the fair because it is just so cute with it's rows of little shops but we just couldn't pull it off - either our lashes wouldn't rez or something was blurry or kids needed tending in RL.  We made such a fetching pair. Then none of my photos saved to my hard drive for unknown reasons that are part of the conspiracy to break me and I had to walk away and fell asleep on the couch for hours.

 Hempy was sweet enough to put her ensemble back on so we get to show you 2 of the fantastic looks you can pull together from the fair.  Hempy in the top photo chose Icing's brilliant Just Swing dress, which includes that uber fantastic veiled hat.  Look at the lush colors in the skirt and the perfect shading in the bodice.  I did absolutely no retouching of clothes in this post.  They are just that well done.  Dilly Dolls is introducing the Beatrix Heels at the fair.  They are to die for. Hemp said the hud makes skin matching a breeze plus the shoes are color change.  I must get a pair.  Hempy chose a new skin from Essences that has very nice retro details.  Oh, and she made the jewelry, lovely Queen Sophie sets!

I used Ingenue's Martine Dress as the base for my ensemble.  I've posted Ingenue many times before and I'm a huge fan.  Vintage clothing is nothing new to her (and it's nice to see others come on board!).  Betty Doyle is just such a master of her craft.  She has ventured into Mesh, which sadly I have not downloaded as motherboard would probably croak on the spot, but this dress is not mesh, which made me kinda happy!  The dress is a perfect backdrop for accessories.  I tend to downplay accessories and look for the one perfect piece, but more really works with the dress.  House of Fox makes really delicious bags and I found the Steffani bag to be a good contrast to bring out the ribbon on the hat, blah blah.  Hatpins made the elegant Florence Cloche hat, which I adore.  I get a bit impatient fitting hats and hairs so this was win.  The perfect bob in a series of color changes. SIGMA Jewels offers the Andra necklace, which is a really versatile piece that easily carries from day to evening looks.  Anthem, a new store to me, that I will be returning to, offers the stunning Victoria ring. It comes with both a three finger and single option.  Great details on the band and a really nice patina on the metal textures.  My shoes are not from the fair.  They are from Baby Monkey, which has a great selection of pumps that work with the vintage look.  I love Sileny Noel's new skin, Swing, and I had to wear the freckled version.  Sileny, who has released skin under the Mango Mango brand for quite awhile now, has joined forces with Airedine Poe from Adore & Abhor, and you can now find her fine work under the brand Adore & Abhor Cosmetics.  She has added a feature which I really like, which is a small bust option.  A cleavage enhancer is included as well, no worries to all who love the bewbs.  Finally, and then I will stfu, I LOVED Malvada Mujer's Kiki eyeshadows, because it completed my "My husband's plane was shot down over the Pacific look".  Just great stuff.

We will be steady posting Vintage Fair stuff for awhile as there are so many amazing items.  I am enthralled and am happy to see Hempy Weezles joining us here.  Hemp is a great stylist and I <3 her.
