Brr Cold

Oh, God. The Arcade! What a love/hate thing I have going on with that event.  I want it all, always, and I've basically forgotten how to blog for the last week as I have been stuffing my inventory to the gills like a squirrel stuffs acorns before winter.  I've always been an inventory hoarder since the beginning and something about having to get every single item from some sets (whether I use them is missing the point) that turns me into a Skinnerian button pusher.  Eh, but there are worse things to be in life than a bonafide SL fashion addict. I think I channeled The Blue Boy for my look today. It all just fell together perfectly once I was able to say "slow down, Eden" and start putting the look together.

I get way too long-winded in my posts, as Qopi has reminded me.  So instead of saying things twice, I will elaborate on the items in credits!

Winter is Coming...Already?

It has been snowing like the dickens in RL and I've been dressing up Eden in warming clothes even though it is always warm on my platform where I hide most of the time. I am a big fan of Coco and I grab just about any coat or suit that she makes as they are always perfect.  She recently released the Chester Coat and a new Sweater with Shirt underneath and I had to have at least one color of each. The sweater has the added feature of a version that fits under coats and not having to fight mesh clash makes me very happy.  I guess I can justify buying more purely on that basis.

So much of the "stuff" I am wearing with the outfit is currently available at various events.  Wasabi Pills has the adorable Karin hair at FaMESHed for November.  I love the short bangs; besides being fresh, they always make me think of a gamine like Audrey Hepburn or Winona Rider.  The gorgeous shoes I am wearing are from Nardcotix, which has recently reopened and making stunning shoes. The Delilah Stilettos are currently available at The Liaison Collaborative.  There are versions for Slink high feet and Belleza and The Mesh Project bodies. Regretfully the shot came out so "white" with the lighting I used that you can't really make out the stockings I am wearing from Cannibelle. The designer, sweet Annabelle Couturier, has made some finely textured Micronet Tights for Cirque de Seraphim in both dark and light pastel tones.  Let me say this: I am a fussy shopper, I have a ton of things in my inventory and I have come to appreciate good designers.  Cannibelle is tops on my list for stockings and she makes appliers for just about any body, including toddlers.  The things on my nails are actually quite fantastic.  The Rawwr Claws are made by Plurabelle Lazslo of Bliensen + MaiTai for this month's round of We<3RP.  They are original mesh, available ready to wear for both slink casual and elegant hands as well as in sizes large enough as well as modifiable for the standard avatar hand, including for men.  They are delicious and a great statement piece!

50 Shades of Eden and one of them is pissed :)

Angry because I have spent the last several days in SL attempting to get this shot and either my new graphics card is a fail or the cable provider is a lamo and not giving me a good connection. Either way, my son finally relented and let me use his laptop.  What a difference a good computer makes!
I would take the comp back but he might die. Cable doods are coming later this week and if that does not fix it it means no decent comp for me for the duration! Grr

The items I am showing in this scene are some fabulous items from events that are ending soon.  Run to FaMESHed and check out Trompe Loeil's Paxton Living Room Set.  The primary items include an overstuffed sofa and chairs and one of the coolest coffee tables I have seen in SL, not shown but looks like a large tree slice {ie. Sequoia).  Also available are the paintings and lighting shown above. Season's Story, which I think runs a few more days is as lovely as always and I fell hard for Eula's new Wilma hair.  I'm not a huge big hair fan and this hair is similar to my RL hair.  The delicious slip dress is from Ison's collection at Collabor88.  I love Harry Ison like a fat kid loves cake because he makes soime of the best understated, sophisticated clothes on the grid. I am obsessed with his work. Finally, Cannibelle is busy again after a summer slow down and has some adorable stocking sets at the Kawaii vs. Creepy Gacha Fair.  She has 4 styles out and I opted for one of the kawaii's for this post. I have become a huge fan of her stockings!

Into the Woods

It's the final week of Mystic Realms and if you have not been there you really must.  I am not an RP'er but I like to switch up my look and the shopping there was absolutely fantastic.  Even G Field is there and it is always nice to see new works from Cerebus Noel.  I am a long time fan of the meticulous effort put into items.  I still have hundreds of pairs of the sculpt shoes because they have simply held up to the test of time, while others have been tossed and forgotten. G Field's Elwyn outfit is a single piece, though it looks like separates.  It comes in 5 standard sizes and in 4 colors. If you can't decide which to buy, get the fatpack because it's a really good value.  I've become more aware of Isabeau Baragula's work for Kalopsia, especially her range of skill.  She has several items at Mystic Realms including the stone arch, well, and tree bench shown here. However, if you visit The Men's Dept. right now you will see houses she has made to resemble metal shipping crates that are just as incredible.

Also brand new is Wasabi Pills Ariel hair which she has created for Fallen God's Anniversary. Among other event there is a small market with some of "the Gods'" favorite creators. It's a precious mid-length  rigged style with a bit of a lift and a braid across the top.  It is available in all of MissAllSunday's textures and includes hair bases.  Me likey :).

6.30.2014 : Birds of a Feather

Ok, so.  This kidney infection I have been fighting since May has really taken a hit on me and RL had to come first.  I try so hard to not get ill that by the time I am I am usually the last to know it and completely run into the ground. But life goes on and thankfully I am still in the game :)  I've managed to relieve my shopping itch with new releases from a variety of stores and events. Details are below in credits!

3.10.13 Fringe Society

I took some time today to wander around Kaelyn Alecto and Maxxster Resident's lovely new sim called It All Starts With A Smile. The sim is open to the public and full of all kinds of wonderful places to take photos, meet with friends or even dance.  In addition to the little village, where this photo was taken, there are rolling hills, playgrounds and wandering paths along the water.  I have been a longtime fan of Mimikri and ran to pick up some pieces to her new Milano set.  Mimikri does great things with textures and the snakeskin fabric on the skirt is simply delicious.  The set also includes sleeveless tops with lace overlays so it's perfect when you just want to throw something on and not worry about whether the meshes are going to fight. I just tossed on the fringy Leather Waist Bag from Zenith that is out at this month's The Men's Dept. It comes sized and in an unrigged version so you can mod it to your needs.  I broke my bank this weekend at the new Slink West sim which is devoted to SLINK friendly items, natch. Each store has at least one item at 50% off for the first week the sim is open.  I binged at Renegade, which has all it's shoes half off (OMG). I was also super impressed with Annabelle Couturier's Cannibelle stockings.  I'm wearing her new Chandelier stockings as they look funky with Renegade's Mendes boots. I can't forget the new hair release from Tableau Vivant for this months round of Collabor88.  The Low hair is a unisex hair that has a loose pony in back with a tintable band.  (sorry I didn't get a back shot, my comp decided to crash while I attempted to take a decent shot).

Santa: !! Follow US !!: Christmas '13 Santa Claus: Truth in reporting here. This very grumpy but cute santa is a mesh item that includes a sleigh and a bunch of presents around him. All uploaded as a single object with a super low LI of 7.  I just wanted Santa and so I ended up derendering everything but him and a bag, which was tons of fun since my horrible graphics card causes me to crash with nearly every photo I take.  Follow US has a ton of adorable, inexpensive items on the Marketplace, but I recommend if you just want the santa don't be as miserly as me and spend a few Lindens more on the Santa with just the bag.

Cannibelle / Wasabi Pills New Releases

Lately, my inventory has pretty much taken over my time in SL.  I dream of the day when it's not lagging me down (it does happen) and I can actually not worry about it.  Some days I really am tempted to just pitch the whole thing or switch to one of my alts.  I know it's been done but on the other hand I am enamored with SL fashion and have collected this great treasure trove, though I can't find half of it.  And I love Eden.  I am not my avatar but I do bring myself to SL and I've never really felt quite myself on the others.  My friend, Whisper Despres, is keeping count of her inventory size on her new blog, Fashion Fumbles, and I am going to do the same thing here.  Whisper is an awesome blogger and many of you might have been following her on freebles.  She has decided to not limit herself to freebie blogging, which I kidded her about because Whisper is CHEAP and she loves to hunt.  If she doesn't, she feels she is missing something and starts to get weirder than usual.  We all have our fetishes, don't we? Mine is shopping and my inventory is 107, 677 which is down from over 114 K when I started to get serious about this.

I'm not sure why I feel compelled to talk here.  I'm not a super chatty person but for me blogging is a personal expression of what I love.  I have recently received a couple of items for review that I am excited about. Annabelle Couturier of Cannibelle is a lovely lady who has gained my attention for her work with lingerie and tattoos.  She is not exorbitantly expensive and she does good work.  She has recently released the Harpreet Lingerie, which has a decidedly South Asia feel to it.  It gave me a chance to bust out my loved [BA] Moroccan set, which I see he is offering at Collabor88 now (not the pavillion).  The new chairs look updated and I'm literally forcing myself not to get the new ones.  She has also created the new Aadita Henna tattoo, which works so well with the lingerie.  I've noticed that she seems to make the effort to have her tattoos compliment her lingerie and I appreciate that.  The other item I recently recieved is Wasabi Pills newest mesh hair, Nicole.  MissAllSunday must work like a maven.  She is cranking out the most fabulous hair lately and really seems to get this mesh deal.  I've said it before and I will repeat it: She has some of the nicest hair textures on the grid and everything is available in a ton of colors.  I've been converted into a big fan.
